Ulster Unionist MLA for South Belfast has condemned the petrol bomb attack on a house in Fortuna Street, off the Donegall Road, this week.

The Petrol bomb was thrown at the front of the house late on Tuesday evening when a man and his ten year old daughter were in their South Belfast home.

In a statement Mr McGimpsey said, “I utterly condemn this despicable act of violence on a family home in a densely populated residential area of South Belfast.  I am glad no one was injured in the attack but the outcome could have been very different had it not been for the rapid actions of the resident and his neighbours in bringing the fire under control.”

“There is no place or justification for such violence in our society and I would appeal for anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the police immediately to help bring the perpetrator to justice.”
